The Deputy Prime Minister of the Interior, Jacquemain Shabani, has invited Mgr Donatien N’shole, general secretary and spokesperson of the National Episcopal Conference of Congo (CENCO), to a working session this Saturday in his office. In a letter consulted by Infos.cd on Thursday, the Minister wishes to discuss allegations of “discrimination, hatred and violence targeting certain communities on account of their origin, language or morphology”.
Jacquemain Shabani expects Donatien N’shole to provide “concrete proof”, so that appropriate measures can be taken to guarantee social cohesion and respect for good living together.
“I would ask you to provide all the evidence necessary to substantiate your allegations, in particular the locations, names and addresses of the victims”, the official correspondence states.
The summons follows a CENCO communiqué published last weekend, denouncing the stigmatization of Swahili-speakers in Kinshasa and other parts of the country.
Already on February 27, he was heard by the National Security Council (CNS) on the same issue.
